What: SITE Roundtable – “Conducting a Train-the-Trainer for Facilitators at Remote Locations”

When: Friday, February 17, 2012

Where: Webinar

Description:
11:00 AM - 12:00 PM EST: One of the challenges facing training directors today is handling initial and ongoing training and evaluation of facilitators in person. If you have remote trainers on your team, how do you keep them motivated, refreshed, and current on the latest training methods when you are not in the same office, let alone the same state?

Onsite training is becoming a thing of the past as company budgets are limiting travel expenses. To continue to train and evaluate your remote employees, you are going to have to get creative.

By attending this webinar, you will walk away with ideas on how to reach out to your remote training staff and keep them up to speed on the latest training techniques. While in person training is the most effective, it isn’t always necessary. What are other ways you can reach your employees without incurring the expense of in person training?

We will discuss how distance education plays a big factor in training today and how to give your trainers a positive learning experience via webinars, online training, and video-based training.

This will be an interactive session so come prepared to share your ideas with fellow SITE members on how you effectively motivate and train your remote facilitators.

What: SITE Sponsored Webinar: "The e-Vantage: Strategies for Delivering Content Virtually"

When: Friday, March 2, 2012

Where: Webinar

Description:
1:00 PM - 2:00 PM EST: The e-Vantage: Strategies for Delivering Content Virtually

Delivering content virtually is the new reality for many professionals.

Whether you are leading meetings, presenting, or facilitating a training program, you need to connect with every audience member. Just “doing what worked" in a live (in-person) meeting or classroom is not enough. Working with virtual participants presents a different set of strategies to keep your audience engaged, excited and wanting more.

Learning Objectives:

* Understand how people learn in live (face to face) and virtual environments
* Increase their impact with live and virtual audiences
* Build interaction for remote audiences
* Manage their participants’ “cognitive load”
* Prepare materials that prompt involvement
* Use annotation tools to involve audiences
* Create visuals for virtual training and engagement
* Boost presenter confidence in using virtual modalities

What: SITE Roundtable – “Metrics – Is the Cup ½ Empty or ½ Full?”

When:Friday, May 18, 2011

Where: Webinar

Description:
11:00 AM - 12:00 PM EST: As insurance trainers and educators, we’re constantly being asked to “prove our worth”.  I’m sure you’ve been in situations following a major training initiative, when you’ve been asked “so what did we get for that?”  Knowing what to measure, how to measure and what it really tells us after we collect the data can be difficult.  And, finding a way to tell a compelling story about that data can be even more so.

I certainly won’t profess to be an expert on this topic, but invite you to join us for a discussion about:

• What works and what doesn’t?

• Which metrics really matter?

• What do the metrics tell us?

• Who will care?

Please come prepared for a facilitated discussion.  I’m sure you have ideas or horror stories to share about metrics gone awry.  Let’s share ideas, best practices and maybe some lessons learned along the way.

Tammy began her career in July 1985 as an Auto Underwriter.  She has held a variety of positions throughout the company.  Most of her years at State Farm have been in a Learning and Development function.  She’s an Instructional Designer at heart and for the last 10 years has managed teams responsible for building and maintaining large curriculums.
