CHARITY
For Love of Children (FLOC)
For Love of Children (FLOC) provides free educational services beyond the classroom to help low-income students succeed from first grade through college and career. FLOC leverages a network of professional staff, trained volunteers, engaged families, and active community partners to teach, empower, and transform students’ lives. FLOC’s services are provided for free to more than 500 students from low-income families in the District of Columbia and West Virginia. Our experience shows that when students are encouraged and prepared, they can overcome any challenges and complete their educations.

There are several ways to contribute to this year’s charity, For Love of Children. Throughout the conference, members of the Volunteer committee will be selling ribbons to add to your name badge. You’ll also be able to buy raffle tickets for a chance to win a free registration to the 2013 Conference in Portland, Oregon. We’ll also be holding our Tuesday night Silent Auction. There will be a wide variety of items to choose from so be sure to check out the offerings. All proceeds raised from our efforts will go to support FLOC and their various children’s programs.
If you’re unable to attend conference, but have something you would like to contribute to the Silent Auction, please contact Jamie.martin@selective.com or Tammy.Alsene.bcz2@Statefarm.com. Some of our most popular items in the past have included handmade jewelry, wood crafts and handmade note cards. If you have a special talent and would like to contribute something for the auction, we would love to include your items. Also, gift cards are a perfect silent auction item. If you are interested in donating a card, let us know and we’ll make sure it gets to Washington, DC.
Thank you for your support of this worthy cause. Stay tuned for more details and we hope you’ll accept your Mission and arrive in McLean at 18:00 hours 23 June 2012.

Date: June 23-27, 2012
